The weird thing for me is that my kids, or our kids, are around the same ages that we were when we first did that scene on 9 3/4.  And Rose is a little bit older, but Ryan, who plays Hugo, who’s my son, I think he’s just coming up to 9, which is how old I was when I first started this.  And seeing them, and seeing how excited they are and talking to them about their experiences is really weird.  It’s kind of cyclical, it’s like we’ve gone full circle.  It was the first time that it really hit me that it was going to be over.  And it brought back memories of the very beginning, when it was kind of so amazing, and I was just so in awe of it all.  And, you know, I think I just realized how incredible it all was.

Inspirational Motivational of the Day: 27-year-old Monique van der Vorst lost use of her legs after a surgery to correct an ankle problem at 13 went horribly wrong.

“[M]y leg swelled up, went purple and cold, filled with liquid that stayed there,” she told the AP last year.

An up-and-coming field hockey played prior to her botched operation, she refused to give up on her love of competition. With her family’s support, van der Vorst rekindled her passion through handcycling, and went on to become a world champion and a silver medalist in the 2008 Paralympic Games.

Tragedy struck a second time, however, when a cyclist crashed into her while she was riding in Mallorca, forcing her to halt her training and enter rehab, and effectively dashing her dreams of a gold medal in the 2012 Games.

But, then, something amazing happened: During her stint in rehab, van der Vorst suddenly started regained feeling in her legs. It wasn’t long before she was back on her feet for the first time in 13 years. The accident “apparently lifted this blockage and recovery started,” said her rehabilitation coach Dr. Christof Smit.

Oh, it gets so much better: Exactly one year after van der Vorst began walking again, she was signed by the world-class Rabobank Women’s Cycling team.

“Monique still has a lot to learn, but I’m sure that the rest of the girls will also learn a lot from Monique,” said team director Jeroen Blijlevens. “She has the right mentality and willpower, she has proved that during her sports career. She would like to race on the road and we will support her to do it.”

“As people of faith, affirming the Christian teaching that before God all people are equal, we will no longer participate in this discrimination,” the church’s statement says.

The vote was unanimous and brought tears to the eyes of some of the 100 or so members who stood to vote in favor of the “statement on marriage ceremonies.”

This is perfection.

Hopefully it won’t be long until other religious organizations understand this. No God worth having faith in would promote hate.

This gives me a tiny bit of hope for my state yet
